I found it very interesting to look at which way different groups voted.

All the papers are reporting today that Bush managed to attract over 4 million evangelist and far right christians to vote this year who didn't vote at all in 2000. The CNN breakdown seems to support this.

In general it seems that the average Bush voter is a reasonably weathly, white christian, straight male, over 30 who attends church weekly, and beleives abortion and same sex marriage should be illegal.

apparently his strong support for an outright ban on same sex marriages was the biggest pull of extra votes for him! "Moral values" was the primary concern listed for the majority of Bush voters.

The Iraq war featured relatively low down in the priorities of voters for both candidates.
