They should knight whoever came up with that. Classy.

What bothers me most about that ad is that it really ought to say, "Ever bowled over a maiden?" Because what's a "maiden over"? Is that a bowling term?

Craige - an over is 6 bowls in cricket. A maiden over is an over during which no runs are scored - in cricket, this is a real achievement for the bowler. Hence 'bowled a maiden over' has genius-like qualities when used in this context.

Oh. Okay, so it's not just bad grammar then. I'm so used to signs being copied in blogs because of their atrocious grammar. You have to figure, though, that most of us Americans won't have clue about that cricket stuff.

Yep! But I figured I had enough readers in the cricket-speaking world to make it worth it.
